FREE RADON TEST KITS
Dusty Donaldson, founder of the Dusty Joy Foundation (dustyjoy.org) will be distributing free radon test kits at Madison, Mayodan, and Stoneville in March. Radon is a cancer-causing, radioactive, invisible, odorless gas. Breathing air that contains radon causes lung cancer. Radon is the number one cause of lung cancer in people who never smoked. Radon testing is inexpensive and easy. If a problem is detected, relatively inexpensive options are available to remove the threat of radon from the home. Kits will be given on a first come first serve basis.

Did you find a job, start a business, complete a degree program, or benefit in some other way because of your experience at the library?
North Carolina libraries are changing lives every day, and we'd like to showcase the benefits patrons experience because of their libraries. NC LIVE launched a new webpage: My Story: Made Possible by NC Libraries Library patrons across the state can use this form to submit their personal stories explaining why libraries have made a difference in their lives.
Our objective is to collect these success stories to promote North Carolina libraries and NC LIVE, and to help educate North Carolinians about the important role libraries play.
