The Madison and Mayodan Libraries are Closed in Preparation for the Opening of the New Madison/Mayodan Public Library

In order to open the new Madison/Mayodan Library it is necessary to close both the Madison and Mayodan branches in order to consolidate and move their contents to the new location.

The bookmobile will be available at the Mayodan parking lot (to return or check out materials) on Thursday April 17th and Tuesday April 29th from 1-4 p.m.

The Stoneville Branch will remain open as usual. Their schedule is:
Mon/Wed Noon-5 p.m.
Tue 1 p.m.-6 p.m.
Thu 1 p.m.-8 p.m.
Fri 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Closed Saturdays and Sundays
Public Story Time Fridays @ 10:30

Saturday Library options are the Eden and Reidsville Branches of the Rockingham County Public Library System. Both branches are open Mon/Thu 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Tue/Wed/Fri 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Check Out Our New Language Learning Program!

Rockingham County Public Library has added a new language learning program to our website.

Pronunciator offers language lessons for 80 different languages and offers ESL courses for 50 non-English languages.

You can tailor your language lessons to subjects that interest you and quiz yourself to find out how much you’ve learned.

You will need to have your library card number with you the first time you sign up but you will be given the option of creating your own username and password.


Check Out our Library’s New E-book Collection

You asked for them and now they are here! Due to popular demand the library has added e-books to our library’s collection.

The Library’s e-book collection went live on November 5. Go to to browse the e-books available for check out.

The library e-books can be read on PCs, Macs, Android Devices, iOS devices, Kindle Fires, and Nooks. If you would like to checkout library e-books, visit your local library and ask for help setting up an Axis360 account.

In order to read the e-books you check out with your Axis360 account you will need to download either the AxisReader app or the Blio Reader app on your e-reader device. To download the apps to PCs, Macs, Android Devices, or iOS devices visit Axis360’s app zone web page at:
